Council secures funding to improve Highway network

Rochford District Council has secured £186k through the South East Essex Parking Partnership to improve our District’s Highways network.

This funding will enable our Highways Ranger teams to increase their productivity and efficiency through the purchase of new and improved equipment, including our own Traffic Light system, enabling the Council to undertake our own traffic management.

In addition, this funding also provides £20k to improve safety for school children using Iron Well Lane to walk to school, £10k for a ‘No Through Route’ at Thorpe Road, Hawkwell, and the installation of bollards at Rectory Road, Hawkwell to prevent cars from parking on the grass verges.

Rochford District Council Portfolio Holder for Environment, Cllr Dave Sperring said:

"I am delighted that we were able to secure the SEPP funding that will benefit residents across the district".
