Get your nominations in for the Rochford Sports Awards!

Date

Nominations are now open for the Rochford District Council and Brentwood Borough Council 2024 Sports awards.

The sports awards celebrate the achievements of athletes, coaches, volunteers and teams who have made significant contributions to sports in our community. Rochford District Council in collaboration with Brentwood Borough Council are looking for individuals, teams or groups who go above and beyond to support and champion the growth of sports in our communities.

We are calling on residents, clubs and organisations to nominate those who have shown outstanding dedication, skill and sportsmanship over the past year. Whether it’s a promising young athlete, an inspiring volunteer, or a team that has shown remarkable performance, we want to hear their stories and celebrate their achievements.

With seven categories, the awards also seek to recognise the unsung heroes of sport – the coaches and volunteers whose commitment ensures athletes and clubs continue to thrive.

Councillor Lisa Newport, Chair of Rochford District Council’s, Communities, Wellbeing and Housing Committee said, “Our sports awards highlight the commitment and passion that drives our local sports community. It is an honour to get a chance to recognise those who dedicate their time and energy to fostering a vibrant sports culture in our district.  We urge everyone to take this opportunity to nominate the deserving individuals and teams to celebrate their achievements.”

The full list of award categories are:

  • Sports personality of the year
  • Community club of the year
  • Young sports personality
  • Coach of the year
