Help shape the development of skateparks in Rochford

Rochford District Council is looking to upgrade three of its skateparks within the district and would like to seek your views on the designs.

Earlier this year, Rochford Council put out to tender to find a company who will design and construct three concrete skateparks, following the first phase of consultation on upgrading the parks late last year.

The project offers the supplier the opportunity to create unique public spaces at Hullbridge Recreation Ground, Rayleigh Leisure Centre and Clements Hall Leisure Centre. The facilities, once built, will be a concrete freeform skatepark that should accommodate all forms of 'wheeled' activity.

To help us with the final stage of this process, we would like residents and users of the current skateparks to help us choose their favourite design and facilities from the three companies who are in the final round of the tender process.

Cllr Julie Gooding, Lead Member for Leisure, Tourism & Wellbeing, said: "We want our residents to get the most from their skate parks, so we invite all users and local communities to get involved. It's vital that we get the spaces right, making each area a destination skatepark."
