Rochford District Council is reaching out to skatepark users and local residents to have their say in a consultation that will help shape the proposed redesign of Clements Hall Skatepark in Hawkwell. This consultation marks the next stage of planning for the redevelopment of this well-loved community facility, giving residents an opportunity to influence the design features of the skatepark to ensure it meets the needs of skate park users.
The redesign of Clements Hall Skatepark is part of Rochford District Council’s ongoing Play Space Improvement Programme, which recently transformed two local skateparks into state-of-the-art concrete facilities. With this consultation, the Council now turns its focus to revitalising Clements Hall Skatepark, aiming to bring new life to this much-loved space for local skaters.
Residents can participate by completing a brief survey, sharing their thoughts on various proposed design elements. The feedback collected from this survey will directly influence the next steps in the redevelopment process, including the tendering process.
Councillor Chris Stanley, Chair of Rochford District Council’s Environment and Climate Change Committee, said: “This project is a fantastic opportunity to reinvest in a beloved local asset and to create something that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of our community. By working together, we can ensure the new Clements Hall Skatepark is a vibrant and welcoming space that serves our residents for the next 10 to 20 years. I encourage everyone with a passion for wheeled sports or an interest in outdoor recreation to participate in the survey and help shape the future of this skatepark.”
