The parish of Rawreth is in a countryside setting and located between the towns of Rayleigh and Basildon.
The area is mainly agricultural with centres of population and pockets of industry. Historically, most of the farmhouses in Rawreth were moated manors, many of which survive today.
In the north, the hamlet of Battlesbridge straddles the River Crouch and is a popular centre for antiques.
Did you know?
The hamlet of Battlesbridge is named after the mediaeval family Bataille, not a battle.
