Rochford District Council is proud to announce Rayleigh Windmill has been awarded VisitEngland’s prestigious quality accreditation, following an evaluation by an expert assessor.
The accolades given are the result of rigorous evaluation, conducted through the VisitEngland Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme. This marks a significant achievement for the Windmill, which received a score of 86% - an overall increase of 3% from last year’s assessment.
The attraction received higher marks in key areas including cleanliness, staffing and overall visitor experience. Rayleigh Windmill's outstanding performance in this assessment underlines its commitment to providing visitors with a top-tier experience.
Rayleigh Windmill, a 215 -year-old Grade II listed landmark, stands as one of Rochford's most beloved tourist destinations. This structure serves as both a museum and an exhibition space, offering visitors a journey through history while also providing valuable insights into Rayleigh Mount.
