Rochford District Council in collaboration with Brentwood Borough Council has announced the launch of the second year of GET SET GROW: a free dynamic business growth programme funded by the UK Government.
This initiative, delivered by award-winning business coaches from The Consortium, will offer invaluable support and resources for local businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. The first year of GET SET GROW, which ran from September 2023 to March 2024, was highly successful in supporting 36 businesses, creating 15 new jobs and launching 18 new businesses.
GET SET GROW is designed to foster business growth and innovation by combining the advantages of group business coaching with personalised one-to-one mentoring. The programme will culminate in The Big Pitch, offering participants the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of experts and compete for prizes.
Cllr Michael Hoy, Chair of the Economic Development, Regeneration and Tourism Committee at Rochford District Council said: "The GET SET GROW programme has been instrumental in empowering our local economy and entrepreneurs. As we embark on the second year, we are excited to see how this initiative will further stimulate economic growth and innovation across Rochford. We are committed to enhancing opportunities for business growth and community prosperity. The programme not only provides essential resources and support but also fosters a collaborative environment where businesses can thrive. We encourage businesses to seize this opportunity and participate in what promises to be a transformative experience."
The GET SET GROW programme is open to businesses at any stage, whether start-up or established, located within the Rochford district or Brentwood borough. Participants can have any trading status, including Sole Trader, Limited Company, or Community Interest Company (CIC).
