Rochford District Council opens new skatepark in Hullbridge

Date

Calling all skaterboarders, riders and skaters - the brand-new Hullbridge Skatepark in Pooles Lane is officially open. This state-of-the-art skatepark is a big step forward in our aim to improve recreational facilities across the Rochford District.

Designed and built by Betongpark, this state-of-the-art skatepark was funded through 106 agreement funds. Betongpark are known for their amazing 'destination' skateparks, and Hullbridge is no exception. It's not just a skatepark—it's a community hub!

The skatepark features a closed bowl design with district pigmented concrete, giving a nod to the origins of skateboarding in California's backyard swimming pools. There's plenty of space for different ramp heights, so whether you're a beginner or a pro, you'll have a blast skating here all day with your friends. The bowl's unique design focuses on 'flow,' helping skaters keep their speed for grinds, stalls, and airs. Plus, it complements other nearby street-style skateparks that are in the works.

Councillor Chris Stanley, Rochford District Council’s Chair for Environment and Climate Change Committee, said: “We are thrilled to open the Hullbridge Skatepark, a facility designed with direct input from our local community. This project highlights our commitment to providing inclusive, multi-generational recreational spaces that support physical and mental well-being. It’s a safe and engaging environment for skateboarding enthusiasts of all ages.” Be sure to follow us on social media for updates on the upcoming Rayleigh Leisure Centre Skatepark, coming soon!
